July’s Good News

I don’t know about you, but my anxiety levels have been increasing daily. It seems like there is no good news regarding immigration and immigrants. Every day, we’re faced with a new policy change, a new horror at the border, new delays…it’s easy to get caught up in the negative.

We should absolutely pay attention to and fight these things, but we can’t lose sight of the good out there. From people blocking ICE from arresting their beloved neighbor, to raids not happening at the expected level because people knew their rights and didn’t open their doors, to a U.S. Senator going to the border to help a pregnant asylum seeker into the United States – there is goodness and kindness out there.

I’d like to look back at July and talk about the good we were able to do at Klinke Immigration. We successfully helped 4 people become U.S. citizens; 5 people become lawful permanent residents; 1 victim of violence get placed in Deferred Action status, 1 person consular process with a waiver and return as a lawful permanent resident, and 1 person come into the U.S. as a fiancé. We were also able to overcome an Adam Walsh Act issue for a father of five and we were finally able to get a green card for a client whose application been pending since 2011.

I am grateful for these successes. We have a strong team and we all work together to help change lives, one life at a time.
