Reflecting on Two Years

My lease for the Klinke Immigration office space began on October 1, 2012, so I consider that our official opening day. Here we are, two years later, and I’m so proud of what we’ve done.

We’ve come a long way since then. I remember first meeting clients at Panera Bread or Starbucks because I didn’t even have an office. Now we have a beautiful office where clients are comfortable and safe.

I remember asking Spanish-only speakers to call me back with an interpreter because I didn’t have anyone who could talk to them. Now I have two amazing staff members who are native Spanish-speakers.

I remember when I had one consultation a day. Now we have three or four consultations a day.

None of this happened overnight or because of one person. I’ve had amazing support from friends, family, and especially my husband. Our Senior Paralegal, Rosa, has been invaluable with her years of experience, attention to detail, and no-nonsense ways. Alina, our Receptionist, joined us just six months ago, though it feels as if she’s been with us from the start. Her warm smile greets everyone who walks through our doors. I’m so lucky to have such wonderful, caring people behind me and behind Klinke Immigration.

The biggest thanks, though, goes to our clients. We’ve helped nearly 250 people in just two years, and these people didn’t just have a problem to be solved, but their entire lives were changed.

I never forget that our clients put their trust, their lives, and their family’s lives in our care. Thank you for sharing your stories, your hopes, and your fears with us.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the next two years will bring!
